Apply now! NY soil health mini-grants open

By Blake Jackson

The New York Soil Health Initiative (NYSHI) is pleased to announce the opening of its 2024 Mini-Grant Program. Building upon its successful track record, NYSCHI remains committed to supporting projects that enhance soil health throughout New York State.

In 2023, the program funded 13 organizations across 12 counties, facilitating critical soil health research, extension, and outreach activities that reached over 400 individuals.

The 2024 Mini-Grant application deadline is Monday, May 27th, 2024. Decisions will be communicated on Saturday, June 1st.

Eligible projects encompass research, extension, or outreach initiatives with a demonstrable soil health focus. Additionally, travel grants are available to support attendance at soil health-related workshops, field days, or conferences held within New York State. Grant awards range from $500 for travel grants to $2,500 for qualifying project proposals.

This program represents a valuable opportunity to make a significant contribution to the advancement of soil health practices across New York. We encourage all interested parties to apply.
