In celebration of National Pizza Month, Casey’s is teaming up with 4-H to support youth programs and provide hands-on career learning opportunities.
From now through Nov. 5, customers can contribute to local 4-H programs in two ways: by purchasing a large pizza, where $1 from each sale goes to 4-H programs (up to $100,000), or by adding a donation during online orders to benefit their local 4-H communities.
4-H is America’s largest youth development organization, serving over 2.5 million members nationwide. This partnership with Casey’s aims to foster strong communities by providing real-world learning experiences for young people.
In addition to their donation campaign, Casey’s offered 4-H youth in Iowa a unique opportunity to explore career paths in retail. On Oct. 10, Linn County 4-H members visited a Casey’s store to get a behind-the-scenes look at daily operations. Participants learned about store management, food safety, and even made their own pizzas.
They also took part in a merchandising activity, using planograms to arrange products on shelves and learn strategies to maximize shelf space.
The youth gained insights into how product placement influences customer shopping decisions and how staff efficiently manage store inventories.
This hands-on experience gave 4-H members a deeper understanding of business operations while showcasing how skills developed through 4-H projects can be applied in real-world settings.
“4-H and Casey’s are a great match as we make life better in communities across the heart of America,” said Katie Petru, director of communications and community at Casey’s.
By working together, Casey’s and 4-H are helping youth gain the skills they need for future careers while giving back to their communities.
