Chris Hoffman continues to lead Pennsylvania Farm Bureau

By Blake Jackson

Chris Hoffman, a Juniata County farmer, has been re-elected as President of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau (PFB). This marks his second two-year term leading the state's largest farm organization.

“I am extremely grateful and excited to be re-elected to the office of President of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau,” Hoffman said. “The past two years have been years of growth as we have worked diligently to grow our membership and our influence to build the meaningful relationships required to move agriculture forward. I am excited to keep working to advocate for Farm Bureau members to continue the positive trajectory of our organization.”

Hoffman, a dedicated advocate for agriculture, has been actively involved with Farm Bureau for over three decades. Hoffman has served on the PFB State Board of Directors and Executive Committee and has been recognized for his leadership at the national level, including being named America's Pig Farmer of the Year in 2019.

Hoffman's farm, Lazy Hog Farm, is a 1,200-sow operation that produces over 30,000 market hogs annually. Hoffman also owns Lazy Chick Farm, which raises 250,000 chickens per year.

As PFB President, Hoffman will continue to advocate for farmers' interests, promote agricultural education, and support initiatives that strengthen rural communities.

Hoffman will also serve as the chair of the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting agriculture in the state.

Hoffman's commitment to agriculture extends beyond his farm operations. Hoffman has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Pennsylvania Nutrient Management Advisory Board and the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Council.

Hoffman is also an active member of the PennAg Industries Association, Pennsylvania State Grange, and his local fire company.
