A new online course from Cornell Garden-Based Learning helps educators and organizers to create thriving school and community garden programs. "Planning a Successful School & Community Garden Program" is a six-week course on the fundamentals of garden-based learning. It provides tools, resources, and collaboration to plan, develop, and maintain successful gardening programs. The course starts June 27th.
"We're excited to offer this course to educators, volunteers, and others who want to ensure their garden programs meet the needs of their organizations and participants," says Ashley Helmholdt, program lead.
The course instructor is Donna Alese Cooke, who also teaches Cornell Garden-Based Learning's online courses on organic gardening and garden design. Her horticulture experience includes working in her family's nursery and landscape business, and her own floral and garden design businesses.
