Craig Wood and Jennifer Hunter take acting roles at UK

By Blake Jackson

Two faculty members from the University of Kentucky’s Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment (CAFE) will step into acting leadership roles at UK Cooperative Extension Service and UK Land-grant Engagement. This change follows the recent appointment of Laura Stephenson as the new dean of Martin-Gatton CAFE.

Craig Wood, Ph.D., will take on the role of acting associate dean and director of UK Cooperative Extension Service starting January 1, 2025. Wood has been with the university since 2018, serving as the assistant director of the agriculture and natural resources (ANR) program.

Jennifer Hunter, Ph.D., will begin her role as acting associate vice president of UK Land-grant Engagement on the same date. Hunter has also held key positions at the university, including assistant director of the family and consumer sciences (FCS) program since 2018 and director of the School of Human and Environmental Sciences since 2021.

“Ensuring that Extension continues to flourish as we conduct a search for the next associate dean and director and associate vice-president is paramount,” said Stephenson. “Craig and Jennifer are innovative, thoughtful leaders. I know they will serve extension and the university well during this transition.”
