CSIF releases 2024 Iowa agriculture economic contribution study

Iowa continues to hold its position as a national and global leader in agriculture, particularly in the production of hogs, corn, and eggs. This leadership significantly impacts the state's economy, as highlighted in the 2024 Iowa Agriculture Economic Contribution Study released by the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers (CSIF).

According to CSIF Executive Director Brian Waddingham, the agricultural industry’s value to the state economy is steadily increasing.

Much of this economic contribution is attributed to Iowa’s over 86,000 farms, most of which are family-owned.

These farms not only contribute monetarily but also play a crucial role in job creation across the state. Waddingham emphasized that the agricultural sector is responsible for a significant number of jobs, underscoring its importance to the overall economic health of Iowa.

Additionally, the CSIF aims to support Iowa livestock farmers by helping them grow their operations while adhering to industry rules and regulations.

This support ensures sustainable growth and compliance, which is essential for maintaining the industry's reputation and operational standards.

The study by CSIF sheds light on the integral role agriculture plays in Iowa’s economy, reinforcing the importance of continuous support and development for the state's farming community.

With its dominant position in hogs, corn, and eggs production, Iowa's agriculture not only boosts the local economy but also secures a significant number of jobs, making it a vital sector for the state's prosperity.

In conclusion, the 2024 Iowa Agriculture Economic Contribution Study from CSIF highlights the agricultural industry's profound impact on the state's economy and job market.

By supporting family-owned farms and ensuring regulatory compliance, CSIF plays a crucial role in sustaining Iowa’s agricultural leadership and economic growth.
