By Blake Jackson

The 121st Kentucky State Fair is right around the corner, and you’re invited to experience the unique sights, sounds, and smells that make it one of the most exciting times of the year.

Held from August 14 to 24, the fair is a vibrant celebration of Kentucky’s agricultural roots and all the state has to offer.

Agriculture is more than a profession in Kentucky it’s a way of life that impacts every resident. That’s why investing in the future of Kentucky agriculture is a top priority.

The State Fair serves as a prime platform to showcase this commitment, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

Kentucky State Fair dedication make this event a true showcase for our state. With $200 million in funding from the General Assembly, planned renovations will soon enhance the fairgrounds, ensuring an even better experience for future visitors.

One of last year’s highlights, AgLand, covered more than an acre inside the South Wing with immersive exhibits focused on Kentucky’s farming legacy and its future.

These engaging displays, which earned top honors from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, will return this year. AgLand also features exhibits from Kentucky 4-H, FFA, and other agricultural groups, reaching audiences of all ages.

Fairgoers will get a taste of Kentucky agriculture at its finest from youth livestock competitions to delicious meals prepared by commodity groups at the Great Kentucky Cookout Tent. Visitors will also enjoy a wide array of agricultural exhibits that showcase the excellence of Kentucky farmers.

This year, inclusion remains a priority with events like the Sunshine Class on August 20. Now in its fourth year, it allows individuals with special needs to show livestock in the ring.

This inspiring event will coincide with Sensory Awareness Day, a special time set aside for those with sensory processing needs, offering a more comfortable fair experience.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture will be actively involved, assisting with livestock shows, educating the public, and supporting the state’s agricultural community.

Come be a part of this proud tradition-there’s something for everyone at the Kentucky State Fair!
