Discover New York local flavors with 'Harvested with Heart'

By Blake Jackson

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets has unveiled its new marketing campaign, "Harvested with Heart," to promote the state's agricultural products.

The campaign aims to connect consumers with local farmers and encourage them to choose New York State Grown & Certified products.

The "Harvested with Heart" campaign highlights the stories of local farmers and the high-quality products they produce. By showcasing the dedication and passion of these farmers, the campaign aims to inspire consumers to look for the NYS Grown & Certified seal, which guarantees that the products are grown or produced in New York State and meet rigorous food safety standards.

"Forming connections and trust between farmers and consumers is a pillar of the Grown & Certified program, and I am excited to launch this new campaign to highlight the excellence of our participating growers and encourage consumers to look for the program’s seal, which tells them three things: one, that they’re buying local products; two, that the farm has been certified for the safe handling of the food they’re growing; and three, that they care about the environment.," said Commissioner Richard A. Ball. "Sharing farmers’ stories of how they produce the high-quality products New Yorkers enjoy is important and I encourage everyone to support local farmers by buying Grown & Certified products that continue to be ‘Harvested with Heart."

The campaign will utilize a variety of digital marketing channels, including social media, streaming video, and online advertising. Consumers will be able to learn more about the program and find local farmers' markets and retailers through the NYS Grown & Certified website.

The NYS Grown & Certified program, launched in 2016, has expanded to cover a wide range of agricultural products, including fruits, vegetables, maple syrup, honey, and dairy. By participating in the program, farmers commit to meeting strict food safety standards and environmental practices.

The "Harvested with Heart" campaign is expected to increase consumer awareness of the program and drive demand for New York State agricultural products. By supporting local farmers and choosing NYS Grown & Certified products, consumers can contribute to the state's economy and promote sustainable agriculture.
