In anticipation of the 2024 LMA Convention and World Livestock Auctioneer Championship, Senior Farm and Ranch Broadcaster Ron Hays caught up with Ben Hale of Western Livestock Auctions to discuss the event's significance and highlights.
As a member of the Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) board, Hale provided insights into what attendees can expect from this prestigious gathering.
Scheduled from June 12-25, the LMA Convention will be held at the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel, alongside the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship at Oklahoma National Stockyards. Hale emphasized the participation of auctioneers from across North America, setting the stage for a thrilling competition.
The 2024 Livestock Marketing Association (LMA) Annual Convention serves as a key event for stakeholders in the livestock industry, offering a platform for networking, discussions, and professional development.
A highlight of the convention is the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC), now in its 60th year, where top auctioneers compete for recognition and accolades.
With anticipation building, Hale expressed confidence in the caliber of talent expected at the championship. Against the backdrop of favorable cattle prices, the event presents an ideal opportunity to showcase auctioneering skills and expertise.
Importantly, the championship features live cattle sales, providing a realistic and dynamic environment for contestants.
As Hale noted, the event celebrates the rich heritage of the auction business and the legacy of Oklahoma National Stockyards as a premier market.
Attendees can look forward to engaging discussions, industry insights, and world-class competition, making the LMA Convention and WLAC a must-attend event for anyone involved in the livestock industry.
