USDA announces key staff appointments

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has unveiled notable staff appointments and promotions, enriching its leadership team in Washington, D.C.

  • Crestina Martinez assumes the role of Colorado State Director for Rural Development, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous positions. Martinez's background includes roles such as Director of Strategic Outreach & Advocacy at Xcel Energy and Chief of Staff in the Office of the Colorado Lieutenant Governor.
  • Yeshimebet Abebe steps into the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Administration after serving as the Director of Organizational Management and Cultural Transformation in USDA's Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC). Abebe's career path includes stints as an Assistant County Attorney and District Representative for Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer.
  • Nina Anand rejoins USDA as a Speechwriter in the Office of Communications, having previously served in various roles within the department. Anand's diverse experience encompasses positions at the Milken Institute, the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), and Capitol Hill.

These appointments underscore USDA's commitment to assembling a dynamic and talented team to address the diverse challenges facing agriculture and rural communities across the nation.
