Teens interested in safe farm work can register now for the 2024 Farm Safety Camp held May 21-23 in Minot, North Dakota. This three-day, overnight program teaches 13–16-year-olds crucial skills for agricultural careers.
Participants gain hands-on experience in safe tractor operation, including navigating an obstacle course. They'll also learn proper livestock handling, ATV safety with certification, and farm machinery operation. First-aid training, including Stop the Bleed certification, equips them to handle emergencies.
The program covers agricultural youth labor laws and proper equipment maintenance. Upon successful completion, participants receive certification for operating tractors over 20 horsepower and certain farm machinery for non-family farms. This certification fulfills U.S. Department of Labor requirements for 14–15-year-olds.
The $300 registration fee includes meals, lodging, and personal protective equipment participants can keep. Scholarships are available for farms using Peterson Farms Seed brand. Space is limited to 16 participants, so register today! Click here for more information.
