By Blake Jackson

Agriculture professionals can prepare for the upcoming growing season by participating in the 2026 Fall Crop Protection Webinar Series, presented by the University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment in collaboration with UK Grain Crops Pest Management.

The five-part online series will begin Thursday, October 22, 2026, and continue each Thursday through November 19. Sessions will start at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, or 9 a.m. Central Time, and each program will run for approximately one hour.

The series will provide timely information on agronomic crop production and integrated pest management.

Topics will cover weed science, entomology, and plant pathology, giving participants updates that can support crop management decisions.

The opening webinar on October 22 will feature Extension Weed Science specialist Marcelo Zimmer. On October 29, UK Entomology Postdoctoral Scholar Felipe Batista will present an entomology update.

Extension Plant Pathologist Kiersten Wise will lead the November 5 session on plant pathology. Travis Legleiter, an Extension Weed Science specialist, will return for the November 12 webinar, followed by Extension Plant Pathologist Carl Bradley on November 19.

The webinars are open to farmers, crop consultants, extension personnel, industry professionals, and other interested participants, regardless of location. Continuing Education Unit applications are pending for certified crop advisors and Kentucky pesticide applicators.
