Fight garden pests free - virtual IPM event

Fight garden pests free - virtual IPM event

By Blake Jackson

Join us on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 12:00pm to 12:30pm for a virtual event focusing on managing Japanese beetles and biological control options for aphids in your garden.

Japanese beetles are notorious for damaging roses and other plants in landscapes, while their grubs pose a threat to lawns.

At this session, you'll learn about effective strategies for Japanese beetle management, debunking the effectiveness of beetle bags purchased from stores.

The event is part of the "What's Bugging You?" series hosted by New York State Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Each month, these "First Friday" events feature experts who provide practical advice on integrated pest management techniques.

The goal is to help attendees prevent pest problems and create healthy environments in their living, working, learning, and recreational spaces.

In addition to Japanese beetle management, the session will cover biological control methods specifically targeting aphids in gardens. The discussion will conclude with an IPM Minute, offering actionable steps that attendees can take in the coming days to mitigate pest issues effectively.

Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights from IPM experts and get your questions answered about pest management. Mark your calendars and join us virtually for an informative session on managing pests sustainably.
