Free tax workshops for Missouri farmers

Free tax workshops for Missouri farmers

By Blake Jackson

The University of Missouri Extension is set to host free tax workshops in December aimed at assisting farmers, ranchers, and landowners in enhancing their collaboration with tax professionals.

These workshops will be led by MU Extension specialists, who will discuss significant updates in tax legislation, including the implications of the Corporate Transparency Act.

Participants will also gain insights into various crucial topics such as retirement and Social Security planning, Section 179 tax deductions, depreciation, conservation-related tax issues, and the tax codes that are set to change in the upcoming year.

The workshops will be conducted virtually, allowing for participation from multiple locations. There are two scheduled sessions for attendees:

  • Tuesday, December 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., available in Bolivar, Higginsville, Lincoln, Moberly, Ozark, and Potosi.
  • Wednesday, December 4, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., accessible in Ava, Cole Camp, Jefferson City, Marshall, Pineville, Poplar Bluff, St. Joseph, and Union.

For additional information or to inquire about the workshops, interested individuals can contact Mary Sobba at 573-581-3231. This initiative promises to be a valuable resource for agricultural professionals looking to navigate the complexities of tax regulations effectively.
