The Kentucky Agriculture Training School (KATS) is hosting a two-day Drone Pilot Certification Workshop designed to prepare participants for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) remote pilot certification exam. This intensive program will be held on June 10th and 11th at the Hopkins County Extension Office in Madisonville, KY.

Led by Mandy Briggs, Assistant Chief Flight Instructor at Parkland College's Institute of Aviation, the workshop offers participants a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge and skills required to pass the FAA exam. Ms. Briggs' impressive track record boasts a student success rate exceeding 99%.

The workshop fee is $400. Certified Crop Advisors who complete the program will earn 12 continuing education units in precision agriculture.

Following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to take their FAA certification exam on the afternoon of June 11th (a separate fee of $175 applies, payable at scheduling).

Space is limited for this valuable training opportunity. To register, please contact Lori Rogers, KATS Coordinator, at lori.rogers@uky.edu or 270-365-7541 ext. 21317.

More information about the requirements for the FAA exam is available at https://www.faa.gov/uas/commercial_operators/become_a_drone_pilot/.
