Join Pennsylvania Turnpike Farmer's Markets

Join Pennsylvania Turnpike Farmer's Markets

By Blake Jackson

For over two decades, the Pennsylvania Turnpike has collaborated with local farmers to bring fresh, high-quality produce and food products directly to travelers.

Through the Turnpike Plaza Farmers’ Market Program, visitors can conveniently purchase Pennsylvania-grown fruits, vegetables, and other locally sourced goods while on the road.

This initiative not only provides commuters with healthy food options but also plays a vital role in supporting local agriculture. By promoting Pennsylvania-produced goods, the program helps sustain farming communities and encourages the consumption of fresh, seasonal products.

Travelers can find these farmers’ markets at three key Turnpike service plazas: Allentown Service Plaza in Lehigh County, Sideling Hill Service Plaza in Fulton County, and New Stanton Service Plaza in Westmoreland County.

Each location offers a variety of farm-fresh items, allowing motorists to enjoy the best of Pennsylvania’s agricultural offerings.

The markets operate annually from April 1 through November 30, giving travelers ample opportunity to shop for fresh, locally grown food.

Whether looking for a quick snack or stocking up on farm-fresh produce, these markets provide a convenient way to support local farmers while traveling.
