Now is the perfect time to participate in the hay show at Ag Progress Days. This year, the Pennsylvania Forage and Grassland Council is sponsoring the hay show, a forage research tour, and a picnic. These exciting events will take place from August 13 to August 15.
To enter the hay show, samples must be delivered to the Ag Progress Days site by noon on Tuesday, August 13.
You can drop off samples at the J.D. Harrington Building or at the hay show drop-off located at the east entrance of Ag Progress Days.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top five entries in each class: $20 for first place, $15 for second place, $10 for third place, $5 for fourth place, and $3 for fifth place.
Additionally, all entries will receive a free forage analysis. Entry is free for current Forage and Grassland Council members, while nonmembers will need to pay $12 per sample.
On Wednesday, August 14, at 4:30 p.m., attendees can join the Forage and Grassland Council board and membership for a picnic and forage research tour at the Rock Springs research farm.
The event will be held at the Penn State agronomy research farm, located at 1796 W. Pine Grove Road, Gate D, Pennsylvania Furnace. Registration costs $20 for adults, with reduced fees available for children.
Don't miss out on these engaging and educational events at Ag Progress Days. Whether you're interested in the hay show, research insights, or enjoying a picnic with fellow agriculture enthusiasts, there's something for everyone.
