Join Timber Management Workshop for Missouri Landowners

By Blake Jackson

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering a free workshop for landowners interested in learning about timber management on Thursday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Barnett. The workshop will provide guidance on how proper timber management can enhance wildlife habitats, promote biodiversity, and improve the overall health of forested land.

Landowners of all ages are encouraged to attend and gain practical knowledge from forestry experts. Topics will include sustainable timber practices, strategies for maintaining forest diversity, and ways to improve the value and productivity of private woodland.

Registration is required to attend. Once registered, participants will receive the exact location details. Interested individuals can sign up online.

For questions about the event, participants may contact MDC Forester Nathan Skinner at nathan.skinner@mdc.mo.gov or by phone at (573) 905-3187.

MDC is committed to accessibility at all facilities, nature centers, and conservation areas. Participants who need ADA accommodations can request assistance by visiting https://mdc.mo.gov/accessibility.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity for landowners to learn sustainable forestry practices while supporting Missouri’s natural resources.
