Join UW-Madison’s Organic Agriculture Summit

By Blake Jackson

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is set to host a two-day international summit focused on the role of organic agriculture in addressing global challenges. Scheduled for April 8-9, 2025, the event will take place at the Pyle Center in Madison, Wisconsin, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST each day.

Building upon UW-Madison’s leadership in organic farming and insights from the 2022 report Grow Organic: The Climate, Health, and Economic Case for Expanding Organic Agriculture, the summit will explore how organic farming can provide solutions to environmental, economic, and health-related issues worldwide.

Themed Organic Agriculture as a Solution to Global Challenges, the event will feature panel discussions with leading experts from both the U.S. and international agricultural communities.

These discussions will highlight the benefits of organic farming, including its impact on soil health, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and economic resilience for farmers.

Attendees will also gain insights from researchers and industry professionals sharing real-world applications and scientific findings that support organic agriculture’s role in addressing pressing global concerns.

The summit will provide a platform for interactive discussions, allowing participants to engage with experts and contribute to the ongoing conversation on sustainable food systems.

The event underscores UW-Madison’s commitment to advancing organic farming research and its practical applications in the face of global challenges.
