Kentucky Farm Bureau Praises Senate Farm Bill Progress

Kentucky Farm Bureau Praises Senate Farm Bill Progress

By Blake Jackson

Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) President Eddie Melton praised the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry after it voted to advance the Agricultural Act of 2026, also known as Farm Bill 2.0.

"Today's passage of the farm bill by the Senate Agriculture Committee is an incredible step toward providing much-needed certainty for farmers across Kentucky and the country. Kentucky Farm Bureau is grateful to Chairman Boozman and his team for their tireless efforts in achieving this milestone.

"We also extend special thanks to Senator Mitch McConnell. He has long been an advocate for Kentucky's farmers, having served on the Senate Agriculture Committee since he was first elected. Upon his return to the Senate Monday, one of his first statements to reporters was that he was back to pass a bipartisan farm bill.

"With today's committee action, we're one step closer to that goal."
