Kentucky Growers Invited to June 25 Pest Management Field Day

By Blake Jackson

Grain producers and agricultural industry professionals will have an opportunity to learn about the latest pest management research during the Pest Management Field Day on June 25 at the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center (UKREC) in Princeton.

The event will focus on current strategies for controlling weeds, insect pests, and crop diseases affecting Kentucky’s corn and soybean production.

Attendees will hear updates from University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension specialists and gain insight into research that supports recommendations developed through the M-G CAFE program.

Registration and sign-in will begin at 8 a.m. at the Siemer Milling Conference Center, located within the UKREC campus. Following introductory sessions, participants will visit research plots where specialists will showcase ongoing studies and discuss practical pest management approaches that can be applied on the farm.

The field day is designed to help growers stay informed about emerging challenges and effective solutions for protecting crop yields and improving farm management decisions. Activities are expected to conclude around midday, and lunch will be provided for attendees.

Organizers encourage participants to register by June 18, 2026. Additional details, including the agenda, presentation topics, and continuing education unit information, will be released as they become available.
