Kentucky Proud, Kentucky’s official agricultural marketing program, is encouraging residents to enjoy locally grown farm products during Kentucky Proud Fall Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Week, taking place September 28, 2026, through October 2, 2026.
The annual promotion encourages consumers to connect with local farmers and purchase seasonal food directly from producers. CSA programs allow customers to buy shares or subscriptions and receive fresh products harvested throughout the season.
“As the season changes from warm days to cool nights, so does the variety of products available from Kentucky farms. The long-standing CSA model of purchasing shares or subscriptions directly from local producers is an ideal way for consumers to directly connect to our fall locally grown farm products,” Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell said.
“Kentucky farmers can meet the demands for consumers’ needs and the increased affinity for fresh farm food. This week highlights what incredible products Kentucky has to offer and the local producers who offer them,” Commissioner Shell added.
Fall CSA subscriptions often include a variety of vegetables and other agricultural products. Depending on the farm and subscription, customers may receive winter squash, green onions, sweet potatoes, eggs, meats, and other seasonal offerings.
Share sizes, product selections, subscription periods, and customization options differ among participating farms.
Kentucky Proud is working with the University of Kentucky’s Center for Crop Diversification, the Food Connection at the University of Kentucky, Kentucky Horticulture Council, and Organic Association of Kentucky to promote CSA opportunities online.
