The Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) concluded its 105th Annual Meeting by finalizing its state and national priorities for the 2025 legislative session. These priorities aim to address critical issues impacting agriculture, rural communities, and overall farm operations.
At the state level, KFB’s priorities focus on several key areas, including tax credit reforms to encourage farmland preservation, updates to the state tax code, and improvements to forestry and wildlife legislation. Additionally, KFB is advocating for increased oversight of solar energy infrastructure, upgrades to rural road infrastructure, and opposition to regulatory authority related to eminent domain.
On the national front, KFB is supporting the continuation and expansion of existing farm policies, as well as reforms to immigration and farm labor programs like the H-2A visa. Other priorities include improving transportation infrastructure, conducting regulatory reviews, amending current health care laws, promoting domestic fuel production, reforming the federal tax code, and implementing national protections against wildlife predators.
