Learn Soil Health Tips at UW–Extension July Farm Event

UW-Madison Extension, in partnership with the Climate Resilient Organic Vegetable Production (CROVP) community, is hosting a field day on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Red Door Family Farm in Athens, Wisconsin.

Farm hosts Tenzin and Stacey Botsford will showcase practical approaches used on their farm to improve soil health and strengthen resilience. Attendees will learn about strategies such as maintaining living aisles and using diverse cover crop blends to enhance growing conditions.

Extension specialists will also provide demonstrations and share insights on evaluating soil health indicators, offering valuable, hands-on learning opportunities.

Admission is free, but participants must register in advance to attend this informative and engaging field day focused on sustainable vegetable production.
