The National Deer Association, in partnership with the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Program, is hosting a comprehensive Learn to Hunt Deer course for adults 18 and older.
This program provides a unique opportunity for beginners to gain essential hunting skills through virtual lessons and hands-on experiences, culminating in a mentored deer hunt.
The program begins with a virtual classroom and Q&A session on Wednesday, December 4, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., held via Zoom. Following this, participants will attend an in-person Rifle Safety and Sight-In Day at the Delton Sportsmen’s Club in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, December 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The course concludes with a mentored hunt in Adams County, Wisconsin, on December 14-15.
To participate, attendees must complete a free Hunter’s Education course and Deer Hunting 101, which covers deer biology, safety, equipment, and hunting techniques.
Both classes include free registration codes valued at $30 each. Additionally, participants must attend the Dec. 7 Rifle Safety session, where rifles and ammunition will be provided.
The $50 registration fee includes the use of equipment, a blaze orange hat and vest, and access to private hunting property.
Mentors will guide participants through the process, ensuring a safe and educational experience. Those who do not harvest a deer on Saturday have the option to hunt the following morning.
