By Blake Jackson

Calling all forest landowners and enthusiasts! The popular Pennsylvania Forest Online Web Seminar Series is back for its 17th year, kicking off September 10th, 2024.

These informative webinars cover a wide range of forestry topics, from managing your woodland to understanding wildlife and local trees.

Past sessions have attracted over 22,000 participants, making it a valuable resource for Pennsylvanians interested in their forests.

The webinars are held the second Tuesday of every month, from September through June, with sessions at noon and 7:00 PM Eastern to accommodate busy schedules.

While registration isn't open yet, you can sign up for the free "Woods and Wildlife News" email newsletter to receive invitations directly. Additionally, all upcoming webinars will be listed on the Penn State Extension website.

For those who like to stay organized, consider creating an account on the Penn State Extension website. This allows you to personalize your learning experience by choosing specific forestry topics you'd like updates on.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the confirmed topics for the upcoming season:

  • Using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for Forest Management (September 10th)
  • Basic Wood Identification for Common Hardwoods (October 8th)
  • Carbon Credit Programs Update for Pennsylvania (November 12th)
