Missouri corn and soybean progress

Missouri experienced favorable fieldwork conditions during the week ending September 15, 2024. Despite below-normal temperatures and rainfall, 6.5 days were suitable for fieldwork.

Crop Progress Highlights:

  • Corn: 95% of corn is dented, 74% is mature, and 25% has been harvested. Corn condition remains strong, with 63% rated good or excellent.
  • Soybeans: 96% of soybeans are setting pods, 35% are dropping leaves, and 4% have been harvested. Soybean condition is rated 59% good or excellent.
  • Cotton: 54% of cotton bolls are opening. Cotton condition is rated 55% good or excellent.
  • Rice: 40% of rice has been harvested. Rice condition is rated 60% good or excellent.
  • Winter Wheat: 1% of winter wheat has been planted.
  • Alfalfa Hay: The third cutting of alfalfa hay is 23% complete.

Overall, Missouri's crops are in good condition, and fieldwork activities have progressed steadily despite dry weather.
