The 2026 Great New York State Fair wrapped up its 13-day celebration with nearly 1 million visitors, highlighting New York’s agriculture, food, entertainment and cultural traditions.
A total of 962,795 people attended, marking the Fair’s highest overall and single-day attendance since 2019.
“For 185 years, The Great New York State Fair has served as a celebration of agriculture and community,” said NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard A. Ball.
“This year, that rich history came to life once again, giving fairgoers an opportunity to immerse themselves in and learn about the very best of New York State agriculture while celebrating our diverse communities in a welcoming, inclusive, and family-friendly environment.”
Agriculture remained central to the event, with nearly 7,400 livestock entries and the highest number of Holstein dairy cattle in nearly a decade. More than 200 Holsteins participated in the New York State Holstein Show at the Toyota Coliseum.
The new 10,500-square-foot FFA Building also opened, providing a permanent location for the state FFA Convention and agricultural education programs.
More than 200 young people participated in Agriculture Career Day, while the Voice of the Farmer Garden donated more than 360 pounds of produce to Syracuse-area food pantries. The Taste NY Marketplace and Tasting Yard featured more than 250 products from over 80 vendors.
The New York State Milk Bar remained another major attraction. Fairgoers purchased 297,746 cups of chilled milk, with chocolate milk accounting for nearly 78% of sales. The program also provided job experience for 43 young people aged 14 to 19.
Food was another major draw. The Great New York State Fair Potato Booth received 50,711 orders, while maple products including ice cream, cotton candy, milkshakes and donuts remained popular. Nearly 600 vendor applications were submitted, a 25% increase from 2025, with 355 vendors operating more than 400 stands.
Entertainment also generated strong attendance. The Fair featured more than 1,800 scheduled events and performances, including 41 headline music acts.
Third Eye Blind attracted approximately 49,000 attendees on August 29, making it the Fair’s second-largest crowd ever, while Flo Rida drew about 39,000 visitors the following day.
Other attractions included the Hollywood Circus, Corgi races, Ski Extreme Productions and new programming throughout the Empire Room. Competitive entries at the Wegmans Creative Arts Center also increased 43%, reaching 685 exhibitors.
The Fair incorporated celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary through patriotic displays, competitions, a drone show and a large sand sculpture.
