Nebraska TAPS Field Days Begin Soon

Nebraska TAPS Field Days Begin Soon

By Scout Nelson

The 2026 UNL Testing Ag Performance Solutions Field Days are set to take place across three locations in Nebraska, offering a unique opportunity to explore real-world crop management decisions. These events will begin on June 30 and continue through early July in Mead, Gothenburg, and North Platte. Agriculture professionals, crop advisors, and industry partners are encouraged to participate.

UNL-TAPS is known for creating a practical learning environment where participants engage in farm management competitions. These competitions allow individuals to make decisions about irrigation, nitrogen use, crop growth, and marketing without real-world risks. By comparing results with others, participants gain useful insights into improving efficiency and profitability.

Each field day will include guided tours of the competition fields. Attendees can observe how crops such as corn and soybeans are developing under different management strategies. Discussions will cover important topics including irrigation management, nitrogen application, crop planning, budgeting, and market trends for 2026. Participants will also learn how real-time decisions are made during the growing season.

The schedule includes three events. The Mead field day will take place at the Eastern Nebraska Research Extension and Education Center, starting with a field tour at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center near Mead. The Gothenburg event will be hosted at the Bayer Learning Center with a morning schedule on Tuesday, July 7. On the same day, at 3 p.m. the North Platte field day will be held at the West Central Research Extension and Education Center, followed by a social gathering.

Registration is recommended to ensure proper arrangements for meals and participation. Interested individuals can register here.

These field days offer an excellent platform to learn, network, and understand how better decisions can improve farm outcomes.
