By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has officially certified the results of the 2026 Wisconsin Potato Industry Board election.

The newly elected board members began serving three-year terms on July 1, 2026, and will represent potato growers across their designated districts.

Charlie Mattek of Deerbrook was elected to represent District 1, which includes more than 30 counties across northern and western Wisconsin. Nicola Carey of Bancroft will serve District 2, representing growers in Marathon, Outagamie, Portage, Shawano, Waupaca, and Waushara counties.

Heidi Randall of Cambria was elected to represent District 3, covering a broad region that includes Adams, Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Rock, Waukesha, Winnebago, and many other central and southern Wisconsin counties.

The Wisconsin Potato Industry Board works to support the state's potato industry by promoting research, education, marketing, and industry development.

The newly elected members will help guide board initiatives and represent the interests of Wisconsin potato producers during their three-year terms.
