New York State Fair Joins Forces with Rochester Red Wings

New York State Fair Joins Forces with Rochester Red Wings

By Blake Jackson

The Great New York State Fair has announced a new partnership with the Rochester Red Wings to promote the 2025 Fair and highlight New York agriculture.

Fans attending home games at Innovative Field will enjoy a trivia contest featuring questions about the Fair and local farming. Winners at every other game will receive four free tickets to the Fair.

This collaboration also extends the popular Taste NY program at the ballpark, which brings New York-made craft beverages, hot dogs, and ice cream to fans.

This is the eighth year Taste NY has supported the Red Wings, showcasing local products and supporting regional agriculture.

State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball noted, “The Great New York State Fair and the Rochester Red Wings are fixtures in Central New York and the Finger Lakes Region, so partnering with them in support of local food and local fun is a win-win.”

Fair Director Julie LaFave said, “Baseball season means that summer’s officially on its way – and The Great New York State Fair is just around the corner! We’re excited to partner with the Rochester Red Wings this year to showcase fun facts about our Fair and remind Rochester residents that more family fun is just a quick drive away.”

The trivia contest will run every other home game throughout the Fair, which takes place from August 20 to September 1, 2025.

Attendees can win tickets by answering questions about the Fair and agriculture. Additional stadium signage promotes the Fair’s attractions, including entertainment, rides, and animal exhibits.

Admission to the Fair is affordable, with $8 tickets for adults and free entry for children under 12 and seniors 65 and over. All concerts are included in the ticket price.

Rochester Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason shared, “I am so excited that the Red Wings are partnering with such an iconic event in our state as we share the same values and ideals, as we are both focused on providing incredible family entertainment at an affordable price while creating amazing memories.”

Taste NY offers local beverages from numerous New York breweries and cideries, Perry’s Ice Cream products, and Zweigle’s hot dogs. The program sponsors key locations in the stadium, promoting New York food and drink.

This partnership complements the Fair’s ongoing collaboration with the Syracuse Mets, which also features Fair-themed activities.

The Great New York State Fair, founded in 1841, is the oldest state fair in the U.S. and plays an important role in the economy and tourism of Central New York.
