Ohio Farm Bureau chapters win grants

Ohio Farm Bureau chapters win grants

By Andi Anderson

Two Ohio-based Collegiate Farm Bureau chapters have been selected to receive mini-grants from the American Farm Bureau Federation.

The chapters at The Ohio State University and Wilmington College were each awarded $500 to help with a variety of chapter activities, including recruitment efforts, leadership development, community service outreach, officer training, purchasing educational materials, and covering registration costs for conferences.

“Both of these chapters are great examples of what a successful Collegiate Farm Bureau is all about, and to see them being recognized at the national level is truly fitting,” said Katie Share, ExploreAg and youth development specialist with Ohio Farm Bureau. “With the help of these mini-grants, students will be able to boost their current programs and discover new opportunities that will allow them to increase their impact throughout their communities.”

Since its inception in 2017, the Collegiate Farm Bureau Mini-Grant Program has awarded over 70 mini-grants across the country, providing financial assistance to student chapters working to advance agricultural education and leadership.

Students interested in learning more about Collegiate Farm Bureau opportunities can reach out to Katie Share at kshare@ofbs.org.

Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission is to work together for Ohio farmers, advancing agriculture and strengthening communities. More information can be found at ohiofarmbureau.org.
