Pennsylvania Soybean Yield Contest Drives Farm Profit Growth

Pennsylvania Soybean Yield Contest Drives Farm Profit Growth

By Blake Jackson

The Pennsylvania Soybean Board is encouraging growers to participate in the Pennsylvania Soybean Yield Contest, a program aimed at improving farming practices and increasing profitability. The contest highlights effective agronomic and management strategies used by top soybean producers across the state.

Each year, thousands of farmers in Pennsylvania grow soybeans, and this competition provides an opportunity to showcase their skills. The contest emphasizes both high yields and crop quality, making it a comprehensive evaluation of production success. To ensure fair competition, the state is divided into five regions based on soybean maturity zones.

Winners at both the regional and statewide levels will be recognized, with top performers earning an educational trip to the Commodity Classic. This offers participants valuable insights and learning opportunities within the agricultural industry.

Eligibility is open to farmers in Pennsylvania who grow at least five acres of soybeans. Entry is free, and interested participants can find full contest details and registration on the Pennsylvania Soybean Board website. Entries must be submitted by September 1, with harvest reports due by November 15.
