MI Ag CORE is a new year-long professional development program designed to equip Michigan farmers and agricultural professionals with essential leadership skills.
The program, supported by the Michigan Potato Industry Commission, the Michigan Soybean Committee, and the Michigan Wheat Program, aims to enhance participants' abilities in communication, organization, relationships, and engagement (CORE).
A Comprehensive Approach to Leadership Development
The hybrid program combines in-person and online sessions to accommodate busy schedules. Participants will delve into a range of topics, including:
DiSC Talent and Skill Assessment: Understanding individual strengths and weaknesses.
Communication Strategies: Effective communication techniques for diverse audiences.
Human Resource Management: Best practices for hiring, training, and retaining employees.
Governance and Board Leadership: Navigating complex organizational structures.
Building a Strong Foundation for Future Leaders
The MI Ag CORE program is inspired by the experiences of agricultural leaders who recognized the need for a comprehensive leadership development program. By providing participants with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed, the program aims to strengthen the future of Michigan agriculture.

Applications for the 2025 series are open until November 1, 2024. Accepted applicants will be notified by December 1, 2024.
