The University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence in agricultural education. The university's agriculture programs have achieved top rankings nationally, highlighting the quality of its coursework and faculty.
UWRF's dairy science program has been recognized as the best in the nation by College Raptor, a college search and comparison organization. Additionally, the university secured the second-place ranking in the Best Colleges for Animal Science, General category, placing behind only Kansas State University.
The university's strong performance extends to other agricultural fields as well. UWRF ranked seventh in agriculture teacher education, 17th in agronomy and crop science, 35th in food science, and 62nd in the overall Best College for Agriculture category.
These rankings are based on various factors, including the number of degrees awarded, acceptance rates, tuition costs, and median starting salaries for graduates.
Mike Orth, Dean of the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES), attributes the high rankings to the university's dedicated faculty and staff. He emphasizes the hands-on learning opportunities that provide students with a comprehensive understanding of agricultural concepts.
“These rankings are a testament to the great faculty and staff that make sure our students receive a high-impact, experiential learning-based education both in and outside the classroom,” Orth said.
UWRF's agriculture programs are renowned for producing successful graduates who excel in their chosen fields. The university's strong curriculum, experienced faculty, and supportive environment contribute to the development of well-rounded professionals.
Steve Kelm, Chair of the Animal and Food Science Department, highlights the faculty's dedication to student success.
