The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is investing nearly $8 million to modernize water and wastewater infrastructure in the Village of Cedar Grove, Wisconsin.
The improvements are expected to benefit more than 2,100 residents by enhancing the reliability and efficiency of essential utility services.
“Reliable water infrastructure is crucial for the well‑being of rural communities,” said USDA Rural Development Wisconsin State Director Andrew C. Iverson.
“Projects like these protect public health, support economic growth, and help keep utility costs affordable for residents, priorities emphasized by President Trump and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins.”
Funding is being provided through USDA Rural Development’s Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program, with two separate loans supporting the village’s infrastructure improvements.
The first project includes a $4.052 million loan to rebuild approximately 3,700 linear feet of the community’s wastewater collection system. These upgrades are designed to reduce the amount of clear water entering the treatment facility, improving operational efficiency, lowering annual costs, and extending the plant’s lifespan.
A second loan totaling $3.562 million will finance water system improvements, including replacing aging water mains in affected areas.
The project will address recurring water main failures, reduce mineral buildup, and eliminate lead service lines, resulting in a more dependable and efficient water distribution system for Cedar Grove residents.
