WFU Hosts 95th Annual State Convention in Wisconsin Dells

WFU Hosts 95th Annual State Convention in Wisconsin Dells

By Blake Jackson

The Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU) will mark its 95th Annual State Convention from December 12-14, 2025, at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. This signature event will unite family farmers, rural residents, and advocates from across Wisconsin to exchange ideas, influence policy, and honor the cooperative principles that define the Farmers Union.

The weekend agenda includes a variety of workshops covering topics such as small grains, agritourism, and farmer mental health. Attendees will also hear updates from the National Farmers Union and gain insights from grassroots leaders representing communities throughout the state.

Festivities begin on Friday, December 12, with Groundswell, a pre-convention session focused on community-building and collective action. The evening will continue with a Kamp Kenwood fundraiser dinner and live auction to benefit WFU’s youth education initiatives.

Saturday night will feature a special banquet designed by Luke Zahm, host of Wisconsin Foodie. The meal will highlight locally sourced ingredients produced by WFU members, with Zahm leading guests through a multi-course dining experience celebrating the state’s diverse agriculture and regional flavors.

“This has been a challenging year for farmers, from volatile markets to changing policies,” WFU President Darin Von Ruden said. “Gathering as a membership helps us refocus our priorities strengthening our food system, supporting our communities, and making sure family farms continue to thrive in Wisconsin.”

Members will also elect Board Directors and National Farmers Union delegates, debate policy, and guide WFU’s advocacy for the upcoming year. In addition, the Youth Convention will provide hands-on learning experiences for young participants.

Discounted room rates at Chula Vista Resort are available through November 11, and early-bird registration closes November 16. Full details can be found at wisconsinfarmersunion.com/convention.
