The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has certified the results of the 2024 Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) Board of Directors election. Eight dairy producers were elected to serve three-year terms commencing July 1, 2024.
This democratic process ensures representation for various Wisconsin dairy communities. The newly elected board members hail from diverse districts across the state. Carolyn Alsteen will represent District 2, encompassing Florence, Forest, Langlade, Marinette, Oconto, and Vilas counties. Jessica Pralle-Trimner takes the helm in District 8 (Marathon County).
Similarly, Daniel Hinz (District 11), Annaliese Wegner (District 14), Mitch Kappelman (District 17), Jessica M. Kelley (District 20), and Jody L. Miller (District 23) will serve their respective constituencies.
Voter turnout reached 16.6% across participating districts, with District 2 achieving the highest participation rate at 35.6%. These elected leaders will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the DFW, a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for and supporting Wisconsin's vital dairy industry.
