The 2024 Farm Safety Camp is set to take place from June 25 to 27 in Bismarck, North Dakota. Registration for this all-day event is now open, inviting young participants to engage in comprehensive farm safety training.

Event Highlights:
Participants will undergo extensive training in several key areas:

  • Safe Tractor Operation: Includes a practical tractor driving obstacle course.

Upon successful completion, participants aged 14 and 15 will receive official certification allowing them to operate tractors over 20 horsepower and various pieces of farm machinery for non-relative farmers or ranchers.

This certification, although not mandatory for those working on family farms, is strongly recommended. Those aged 13 will receive their certificates on their 14th birthday, ensuring compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Hazardous Occupations Order in Agriculture (HOOA).

Special Events:

  • Check-in: Begins at 10:00 AM CST on Tuesday, June 25.
  • Parent Leadership in Action: Scheduled for Thursday, June 27 at 3:00 PM, followed by a graduation ceremony.

The camp fee of $300 includes lodging, meals, and personal protective equipment, with a limit of 16 participants. Scholarship opportunities are available through Peterson Farms Seed for families using their seed brand, helping offset the cost of camp attendance.
