Farmers and agricultural professionals will have an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in agriculture at the upcoming Crop Tech Customer Appreciation Event and PARP Program in Millersburg, Indiana. The educational event is designed to provide practical information on current farming challenges, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
The program will take place on August 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 66808 County Road 37, Millersburg, Indiana. Participation is free, thanks to support from the Indiana Soybean Alliance and the Indiana Corn Marketing Council. Attendees will also be provided lunch following the completion of the program.
The event will feature presentations from agricultural and weather experts who will share valuable insights relevant to modern farming operations. One of the sessions will focus on climate patterns and their influence on agriculture. Rachel Cobb, Meteorologist Observing Program Leader, National Ocean Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will discuss climate data and the agricultural effects of El Niño conditions.
Weed management remains an important concern for growers, and attendees will hear from Bryan Young, Professor, Botany & Plant Pathology, Purdue University, who will address strategies for overcoming weed control challenges and improving crop production practices.
Technology will also be a major focus of the event. Adam Shanks, Digital Agriculture & Natural Resources Curriculum Lead, Purdue Extension, will present information on drone cover crop seeding and how digital tools can support more efficient farming operations. Participants will learn how innovative technologies are being adopted to improve productivity and resource management.
In addition, Mark Evans, Agricultural & Natural Resources Regional Educator, Purdue Extension, will provide a session covering important PARP regulatory topics. This presentation will help producers stay informed about key agricultural regulations and certification requirements.
The event also reflects Purdue University's commitment to providing educational opportunities for all members of the agricultural community.
