A total of 90 students have been awarded scholarships through the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln for the 2025–26 academic year. These students will receive a combined $175,000 in one-time scholarships to help fuel their dreams of building purpose-driven ventures in agriculture and beyond.
Rooted in a generous gift from the Paul and Virginia Engler Foundation, the Engler Program was founded in 2010. Its mission is to support bold individuals who pursue their purpose through entrepreneurship. The program has grown into a dynamic community where students from all academic disciplines come together to solve problems, build businesses, and embrace the entrepreneurial mindset.
These scholarships are given to both incoming freshmen and continuing students who show passion, creativity, and commitment to building innovative solutions in agriculture and business. The recipients represent a wide range of hometowns and backgrounds, showing the program’s dedication to reaching diverse students with shared goals.
The scholarships are more than financial aid—they are an investment in the students’ journeys as leaders, risk-takers, and innovators. Students are selected based on their drive, ideas, and vision for creating real change through entrepreneurship.
“These scholarships reflect our commitment to investing in the people who are ready to build—people willing to take risks, solve real problems, and lead with grit and humility,” said program director Tom Field.
Through this support, the Engler Program continues to empower the next generation of leaders in agribusiness, helping them turn their passions into reality and strengthen the future of rural and agricultural communities.
