Entries Open for 27th Jersey Spring Spectacular Show

Entries Open for 27th Jersey Spring Spectacular Show

By Blake Jackson

Entries are now open for the 27th Annual Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular, scheduled for May 1-2 at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua, Wisconsin.

This well-regarded event brings together registered Jersey cattle from across the Midwest, offering breeders a platform to exhibit top-quality animals and compete for awards. This year’s show will be judged by Tom Arrowsmith of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania.

The event begins on Friday, May 1, at 3:00 p.m. with a showmanship competition. Activities continue on Saturday, May 2, starting at 9:00 a.m. with the winter heifer classes.

Milking classes will follow at 12:30 p.m. A new addition this year is the Winter Senior 2-year-old class, expanding opportunities for exhibitors.

Exhibitors can now access entry forms and are encouraged to register early. Entries postmarked by April 17 require a $20 exhibitor fee and $10 per animal.

Submissions made between April 18 and April 24 will cost $25 per animal. Late entries will still be accepted at the event but at a higher rate of $100 per animal.

The Spring Spectacular typically attracts participants and visitors from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and neighboring states, with attendance reaching up to 500 people in past years.

Alongside the cattle show, attendees can participate in a silent auction, which helps fund the event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those interested in supporting the show and connecting with the agricultural community.
