Free Viticulture Event in Missouri on July 17, 2026

The University of Missouri Southwest Research, Extension, and Education Center in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will host a free in-person viticulture event on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Southwest Research Extension and Education center 14548 Highway H, Mt. Vernon, MO 65712.

The program will bring together growers, researchers, and industry professionals for an afternoon focused on grape production and wine development.

Educational sessions will cover key topics such as irrigation technology, vineyard pests and diseases, and current research, including studies on Chambourcin and muscadine grapes.

Attendees will hear from experts representing the Missouri Department of Agriculture, the University of Missouri, the University of Arkansas, and industry professionals offering practical insights from grower and vintner perspectives.

The event will also include a vineyard tour showcasing Chambourcin and muscadine plantings at the facility, along with wine tastings featuring selections from Missouri and Arkansas.

This event is supported by the Missouri Department of Agriculture and the University of Missouri’s Grape and Wine Institute.
