Kentucky Farm Women’s Summit Empowers Female Leaders

Kentucky Farm Women’s Summit Empowers Female Leaders

By Blake Jackson

The Kentucky Farm Women’s Leadership Summit is set to empower women in agriculture by offering practical tools to help manage stress, improve communication, and build confidence in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Balancing farm operations, family responsibilities, and off-farm work can often lead to burnout, and this summit aims to provide lasting strategies for personal and professional growth.

This one-day, hands-on event presented in partnership with Kentucky Women in Agriculture, Farm Credit Mid-America, Dr. Kristie Guffey, and Coach Kiah Burchett will focus on self-awareness, mental well-being, and leadership development to promote farm sustainability and strengthen rural communities. Lunch will be provided by Farm Credit Mid-America.

Participants can attend one of three sessions: December 11, 2025, at Farm Credit Mid-America in Hopkinsville; February 7, 2026, at Back Home Catering in Elizabethtown; or April 24, 2026, at the Pulaski County Extension Office in Somerset. Each event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Featured speakers include Kiah Twisselman Burchett, also known as Coach Kiah, a motivational speaker and 2020 Beef Advocate of the Year; Dr. Kristie Guffey, assistant professor at Murray State University and advocate for women’s leadership and mental health; Natalie Gupton, COO of AgSafe and former President of Kentucky Women in Agriculture; and Marcus Tyler, Customer Resource Manager for Farm Credit Mid-America. Together, they will guide attendees in developing lifelong skills to strengthen their roles in agriculture.
