The Great New York State Fair has announced its 2026 Special Days lineup, offering visitors a wide range of themed celebrations from Opening Day on August 26 through Labor Day on September 7.
The schedule highlights New York’s agriculture, culture, communities, industries, public service organizations, and educational initiatives, alongside the Fair’s entertainment, food, exhibits, and activities.
The celebration begins August 26 with Opening Day and Wacky Wednesday, featuring a $30 all-day Midway ride wristband.
On August 27, Grape Day, Agriculture Career Day, Student Youth Day, and the new STEAM Day will spotlight New York’s grape and wine industry, agricultural careers, youth programs, and hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
August 28 will feature LGBTQ+ Pride Day and New Americans Day, celebrating New York’s LGBTQ+ community and immigrant communities.
August 31 will recognize law enforcement personnel, State Parks, and the state’s maple industry through Law Enforcement Day, State Parks Day, and Maple Day.
September 1 will honor firefighters, emergency responders, and EMS professionals during Fire, Rescue and EMS Day. Visitors can also enjoy Beef Day activities celebrating New York cattle producers and Tasty Tuesday, offering select Fair foods for $3 to $5.
Women’s Day and Sensory Friendly Day will take place September 2, providing health and wellness activities while creating a quieter environment for visitors sensitive to noise.
September 3 will bring Armed Forces Day, Dairy Day, and Stomp Out Stigma Day, recognizing military personnel, New York’s dairy sector, and recovery resources.
Native Americans Day on September 4 will showcase Indigenous heritage, cultural performances, crafts, and traditions.
September 5 will combine JAMS FunkFest with the Rhythm & Resources Job Fair, connecting visitors with employment and educational opportunities.
The Fair concludes September 7 with its traditional Labor Day parade and evening fireworks. Children 12 and under and seniors 65 and older receive free admission every day, while eligible students receive free entry on August 27. Admission is $8, with a $25 Frequent Fairgoer option.
