Register for 2025 CAFO training events

Register for 2025 CAFO training events

By Blake Jackson

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension's Conservation Professional Training Program, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), is offering specialized workshops for livestock operations, particularly those near or at the Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit size. These workshops are intended for farm owners, managers, staff, agronomic and engineering consultants, as well as agency staff and anyone involved with large livestock operations.

Key Updates for 2025:

  • New Structure for Engineering Sessions: This year, technical engineering topics will be moved to a separate pre-event session, which will be held in two locations: Green Bay on January 28 and Mauston on February 11. Registration includes access to one or both sessions, as well as lunch on the event day. These sessions are open to all participants, including those without engineering backgrounds.
  • Location Changes: Based on feedback from past attendees, the event locations for 2025 have been updated to better serve participants.

Registration Details:

  • The registration fee is $46 per person for advanced registration. A $10 late fee will apply if you register after the Thursday prior to the event.
  • Cancellations made by the Thursday before the event are eligible for a full refund upon request or a credit for a future session. Refunds are not available for cancellations after this deadline, and no price adjustments are offered for partial attendance or meals.

Once registered, attendees will receive a confirmation email within 2-3 days.

Group Registration:

If multiple individuals from the same farm or business are attending the same location, you may register everyone on one form and make a single payment. If your staff is attending different locations, please submit a separate form for each location.

Please remember, the registration fee is applied per person, not per farm.
